Thanks to their ability to operate simultaneously on the L and S bands, broadband fiber optic links from ViaLite must be used in the backhaul network for the US space force(USSF) new satellite mesh network.
USSF initial Slice 0 The constellation will consist of 20 transport satellites that will send data to defense-based assets via a spatial mesh network as well as eight tracking satellites responsible for sensing, command and control and data transport.
The supplied L-Band and S-Band wideband cards, housed in 3U rack chassis units, are designed to provide wide dynamic range performance for operation in critical military aerospace applications and environments. Links can be easily and dynamically adjusted to further optimize performance when live, on-site, “in the field” functional changes are needed.
ViaLite Monitoring and control modules have also been selected, allowing complete management of the RF over fiber system, as well as Calendar and reference links to provide 10 MHz reference signals to the equipment.
