Starting a new branch of the US military requires some attention to pageantry. space force has already revealed his seal and flagand has now transitioned to its official logo and motto.
“Today we are proud to present the Space Force logo to the world,” the organization tweeted on Wednesday with a graphic explaining the symbol.

Star Trek comparisons have overwhelmed Space Force since unveiling its official seal, which resembles the Starfleet Command logo. This deep dive into the history and symbolism behind Space Force’s new logo might help clear that up a bit.
Here are the highlights:
- The global symbol is known as the delta.
- The outer silver border represents defense and protection.
- The black interior embodies deep space.
- Two upward pointing arrows inside the delta are stylized rocket launches.
- The four beveled shapes inside represent the Air Force, Army, Navy, and Marines. (Sorry, Coast Guard.)
- The star in the center represents Polaris (the North Star), “which symbolizes how core values guide the Space Force mission”.
The military branch pointed out that the delta is a nod to the heritage of the US Air Force and Space Command and was first used in 1961. Yes, that’s a few years before the start of the original Star Trek series.
Space Force also unveiled its new Latin motto “semper supra,” which it says translates to “always on top.” “This represents our role in establishing, maintaining, and preserving America’s freedom of space operations,” the branch tweeted.

The Space Force is born under President Donald Trump, becoming the sixth branch of the United States military. He has already been the subject of a Netflix comedy send off with Steve Carell.
Space Force probably won’t be able to drown out Star Trek talk even after announcing the logo story. Now if only the The real US Navy Captain James Kirk would transfer to Space Force, our Trekkie lives would be complete.
