Space Force was created in 2019 after Trump called on the Pentagon to create the military branch, according to Axios. Trump chose to add the branch because the United States has followed other nations in establishing a presence in space.
StarTrek: Steve Kovach, technical writer for CNBC, shared a side-by-side image of the Space Force logo and the Starfleet Command logo. See below.
Reaction: Social media reacted to the logos, explaining how the logo looks like something out of the “Star Trek” franchise. It’s fitting that Trump unveiled the logo now, since it’s so close to the debut of “Star Trek: Picard,” the new CBS All Access show.
What if… Star Trek was real and Trump invented Starfleet? And that someone was sent from the future to create it today?

I would just note that the first space shuttle was called Enterprise, so the homage to Trek is not new to government space efforts.
The big deal is that the Space Force should be using naval ranks like Starfleet instead of that Air Force nonsense. https://t.co/kveJ8pR33m

space force stealing its star trek logo is further proof that we all died years ago and now live in a computer simulation

That said: John Noonanan assistant of Senator Tom CottonR-Ark., tweeted that the new Space Force logo actually resembles the same logo of Air Force Space Command, a division of the Air Force that is now integrated into Space Force.
For those excitedly tweeting that Trump stole the Star Trek logo!!!!, the patch on the left was the existing Air Force Command logo.
The same one I wore as a lieutenant in 2005. pic.twitter.com/mYb60YioBP
